My father kept every Globe and Mail Blue Jays clipping Millson wrote in a shoebox under the stairs in Ottawa, and I read them at the kitchen table long after the games were over. Ballpark Figures was the first book that made me think sports could be an economics lesson too. 83 is a good long run of deadlines.

So I just saw this and had to sit with it a minute. Scream was the one my older brother rented constantly in the nineties, we wore out that VHS, and Morgan was never the lead but you remembered him, the kind of face that made the whole thing feel real instead of just a slasher movie. I keep thinking about how many actors like that just quietly shape something huge and nobody learns their name until they're gone. Seventy two. Anyway. He mattered more than the credits probably said.

Sueter in the 80s - what a time. He had the good sense to reject the easy reading of his own songs and keep them about the people he loved. That takes integrity.
