For Ota Jirák · 6d ago

My flatmate from Brno called me about this, not a text, an actual call, because she knew I'd ask who. I lived in Prague for a year and she used to put Studio Kamarád on so I could learn the language, that deep voice doing Hele is honestly how I learned half my Czech vocabulary. Never watched the English ALF as a kid and somehow his version is the one that sticks with me now. 77 is no age, hope his wife and daughter are doing okay.

For Robert X. Cringely · 16d ago

73 is no age at all. I watched Triumph of the Nerds on a rainy night at my uncle's place years after it aired and it still felt alive. Thinking of Mary Alyce and his sons Channing and Fallon right now.

For Jacob Graner · 17 Sept 2026

Used to watch UTSA games with my roommate back in 2018 just because we liked how scrappy that o line was. 28 is way too young. Thinking about his boys tonight.

For Owen Ndlovu · 15 Sept 2026

My dad used to listen to Owen on the radio every Saturday morning. He'd come down stairs doing the catchphrase. ubani ikhehla. That voice made football feel like you were in the room with him.

For Michel Fano · 3 Sept 2026

Just learned he passed. Saw a documentary he worked on years ago and never forgot how alive the sound felt. Rest well, Michel.

For Francesco Guccini · 31 Aug 2026

I found his albums in a record shop in Bologna last year and fell in love. The way he sang about ordinary people and small towns felt like he was singing about my own grandmother's stories. Thank you for showing us how to listen.

So sorry. That's a hard thing to read twice.
