My dad used to put Today on the radio every morning when I'd call him from the States, said this guy had the only voice that made the news sound like it wasn't the end of the world. Told him today and he just went quiet for a bit.

Saw him on TV during the Emergency debates in the 90s. Calm man, no shouting, just ideas. That stayed with me.
