For Archibald "Archie" MacKinnon · 19 Sept 2026

Additional info

Never mentioned here, in 1958 British Commonwealth Games, Archie’s 8 brought home a GOLD and in 1960 Rome Olympics Men’s 8 bought home the only medal won in ALL SPORTS to Canada. Yes, that’s right ONE MEDAL a Silver.

And he loved business once he had finished rowing. He worked hard all his life. He was so kind, generous and talented. He was a perfectionist thst taught me how if I did my best all of the time my life woukd be simple. He was right. I loved making him happy for 47 years. We were inseparable and I miss him every minute. 💔

He was such a unique, kind and incredibly intelligent. But most of all he was humble and I loved him more than I can say. So lucky to have been married to this wonderful, wonderful man
