so I'm reading about this and I didn't know the name until an hour ago, but I spent a semester years back obsessed with Amerigo Tot's sculpture after seeing stills from a documentary that turned out to be his, 1982, some library archive thing my professor had on a dusty VHS dub. never knew who directed it until tonight. forty years at one broadcaster, that's not really a thing here, we don't make people like that anymore or we don't let them stay long enough to become that. anyway. edit: just looked it up, Soos also did the Delta transmissions, small world, that show apparently ran forever too

My mom sent me a screenshot of this obituary and said she used to take us to OMSI just for the hands on exhibits, she figured a guy built those by hand. 64 is no age at all. Discovery Lab in Tulsa too, that's some reach for a carpenter from Vancouver, Washington.

My dad was obsessed with the Indo-Pak wars, used to read me bits from old army journals when I was a kid in Iowa. First time I heard the name Mankotia was in one of those, the Sword of Honour at Dehradun in 62. Strange to see that name again all these years later, this time in an obituary.

A founding member of SMART and the 1996 champ. Gary showed you could stay home and still matter in racing. Four generations of Myers at Bowman Gray. That's a legacy you can't buy.
