Darko Bozovic was a Montenegrin football goalkeeper who spent most of his playing career in Serbia, won three Serbian league titles and two Serbian Cups with Partizan Belgrade, and earned two caps for Montenegro. After retiring he became a respected goalkeeping coach, working with young players at Teleoptik and Partizan, with the Bulgaria national team and finally with Zeleznicar Pancevo.

He was born on 9 August 1978 in Titograd, now Podgorica, in what was then the Socialist Republic of Montenegro within Yugoslavia. He began his senior career at Teleoptik in 1996 and then worked his way up through Serbian clubs, playing for Srem Jakovo, Mladenovac, Timok, Srem and Bezanija, where he helped win the Serbian First League in 2005 to 2006.

At Bezanija he produced the moment for which he was most often remembered. On 28 October 2006, with his side losing 1-0 at home to Vozdovac, he saved a penalty in the 88th minute and then, in the fourth minute of stoppage time, went up for a corner and headed the equaliser. His form earned him a move to Partizan in June 2007. He started regularly in his first months and, across three seasons with the club, was part of the squads that won the Serbian SuperLiga in 2007 to 2008, 2008 to 2009 and 2009 to 2010 and the Serbian Cup in 2008 and 2009. He made his international debut for Montenegro in a friendly against Sweden in September 2007 and won a second cap against Estonia a month later.

Later he played for Sloboda Uzice, Zob Ahan in Iran, Bezanija again and Happy Valley in Hong Kong, before ending his playing career at Vozdovac in 2015. He then turned to coaching goalkeepers, first in the youth sections of Teleoptik and Partizan, then on the staff of the Bulgaria national team from 2022 and later with Teleoptik, Slovan Ruma and Zeleznicar Pancevo.

While working at Zeleznicar he learned that he was seriously ill. He was treated in Turkey, and former team-mates and friends rallied to support him. He died on 25 October 2026, aged 48. Zeleznicar Pancevo announced his death with a farewell message calling him part of the club family and ending, "Rest in peace, Macak", using his nickname, the Cat. He was survived by his wife, Martina, and their two children.

In June 2007 he moved to Partizan. He was first choice for his first six months but lost his place in early 2008 to his compatriot Mladen Bozovic. He stayed until 2010, and in his time at the club Partizan won three Serbian SuperLiga titles (2007 to 2008, 2008 to 2009, 2009 to 2010) and two Serbian Cups (2007 to 2008, 2008 to 2009).

He won two caps for Montenegro, both friendlies in 2007: against Sweden in September and Estonia in October.

He later played for Sloboda Uzice, Zob Ahan in Iran and Bezanija again. In August 2013 he joined Happy Valley in Hong Kong. In January 2014 he was among players and staff arrested by Hong Kong's Independent Commission Against Corruption in a match-fixing inquiry; he was released without charge. He finished his playing career at Vozdovac in 2015.

As a coach he worked with goalkeepers in the youth sections of Teleoptik and Partizan, was goalkeeping coach of the Bulgaria national team from 2022 to 2023, and also worked at Teleoptik (2023 to 2025), Slovan Ruma and, from 2025, Zeleznicar Pancevo on the staff of head coach Radomir Kokovic.
