Told my dad and he just said "365, man" and went quiet for a bit. Didn't know the guy but that reaction said enough.

Eddie Osbourne died on 1 October 2026 at the age of 43. Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling announced the news on social media, describing him as a veteran inside the ring, a trainer and a longtime promoter, and joining the Canadian wrestling community in mourning. His own company, 365 Pro Wrestling, posted a tribute calling him their great friend and leader and crediting him with entertaining audiences across a continent for more than two decades as both performer and promoter.

No cause of death has been made public. He had wrestled as recently as 26 September 2026, challenging for the 365 Tag Team Championship in Victoria with Parker Langdon against Johnny Rostyn and Sawyer Stein. Tributes poured in from wrestlers, trainees and fans who remembered him as a respected builder of the Canadian independent scene. His death came in the same week that English wrestler Benjamin Satterley, known as Pac, also died, a coincidence that several wrestling outlets noted while stressing that the two men worked in very different corners of the business.

Mike Becherer was born on 28 April 1983 in Campbell River, British Columbia. He spent the first seventeen years of his life on Vancouver Island and later said he took the beauty of the place for granted until he left. After high school he moved to Southern Ontario to train as a professional wrestler, intending at first to learn for a year and then return west with enough experience to get bookings closer to home.

That plan stretched into more than a decade. Training under Bruiser Bedlam, Carl LeDuc, Juan Ortiz, Sid Summers and Smith Hart, he debuted in 2001 under the ring name Eddie Osbourne. Ontario's dense independent scene kept him busy with bookings, a job and personal ties, and Campbell River remained the place he called home even while he built a career far from it.

Career

Osbourne built his reputation on the Canadian independent circuit rather than moving permanently to the United States. In Ontario he became a regular for several promotions and, in 2005, founded the Pure Wrestling Association in the Kitchener area, promoting shows and eventually training students of his own. He also worked for Elite Canadian Championship Wrestling and other regional groups, and…

Osbourne built his reputation on the Canadian independent circuit rather than moving permanently to the United States. In Ontario he became a regular for several promotions and, in 2005, founded the Pure Wrestling Association in the Kitchener area, promoting shows and eventually training students of his own. He also worked for Elite Canadian Championship Wrestling and other regional groups, and held championships including the OPW Northern Lights Cruiserweight title early in his career.

Around 2013 he moved back to British Columbia with his partner and son. There he established 365 Pro Wrestling, serving as owner, promoter and head trainer while continuing to wrestle as Cousin Eddie and Eddie Osbourne. The company staged events in British Columbia and Ontario and ran a training school aimed at giving Island talent a path into the business without having to leave home the way he once had. He remained a working wrestler into 2026, competing until his final bout on 26 September in Victoria.

Personal life

Osbourne spoke openly in interviews about the pull of family. He became a father while living in Ontario and, after the deaths of his father and two brothers in the years before his return west, said time with his surviving siblings, his mother and his son's cousins on Vancouver Island was a major reason for moving home. Osbourne spoke openly in interviews about the pull of family. He became a father while living in Ontario and, after the deaths of his father and two brothers in the years before his return west, said time with his surviving siblings, his mother and his son's cousins on Vancouver Island was a major reason for moving home. Peers described him as devoted to the people around him in the locker room as well as at home: a trainer who stayed late with students and a promoter who tried to keep shows affordable and welcoming for families.

He was known in the ring as Cousin Eddie, a blue-eyed, red-bearded character who had earlier teamed as one half of the Thrillbillies with partners including HardKore Hick. Away from the gimmick he was Mike Becherer, the Campbell River native who had turned a teenage dream into a twenty-five-year career on the Canadian independents.

Legacy

Osbourne's legacy sits less in national television title reigns than in the infrastructure he left behind. Through the Pure Wrestling Association and later 365 Pro Wrestling he created stages for Canadian independents, trained dozens of wrestlers, and kept live events running in markets that larger companies rarely visited. Students and peers have said his passion and respect for the business will live on in the people he taught and the shows he built.

For Campbell River and Vancouver Island, he was the local who left to learn the craft and came back to pass it on. For Ontario fans of the mid-2000s and 2010s, he was Cousin Eddie: a reliable draw and a promoter who put on cards when few others would. The outpouring after his death underlined how widely that work was felt across the Canadian wrestling community.
