Jack Cameron Wynne Davies was a Welsh rugby union player from Caernarfon in north Wales. A second row forward, he played for RGC, the north Wales side in Super Rygbi Cymru, the top tier of the Welsh domestic game, and for his home club, Clwb Rygbi Caernarfon. He died suddenly in October 2026 at the age of 24, and his death was announced by both clubs and the Welsh Rugby Union on the evening of 19 October 2026.
Davies joined Clwb Rygbi Caernarfon at the age of 12, and the club later remembered him as a very promising athlete. He developed through a range of age-grade teams in Caernarfon and earned a place in the RGC pathway, the regional development route for young players in north Wales, where he played for the RGC under-18 side.
He then moved to Cardiff Metropolitan University, where he spent three years studying Physical Education and Sport. In 2023 he came home and rejoined the senior squads of both Caernarfon and RGC. He was named in the RGC senior squad for the 2025 to 2026 Super Rygbi Cymru season, while also turning out for Caernarfon, who play in the Welsh Rugby Union's Division One North.
His time with RGC was interrupted by a run of shoulder trouble. In October 2025 the club reported that he had completed his recovery from shoulder surgery and was back in full training. A month later he re-dislocated the shoulder in training, and by late January 2026 he was again reported to be progressing into full training.
The clubs did not say where he died, and the cause of his death was not disclosed. In a joint statement, Clwb Rygbi Caernarfon and RGC said he was a key part of both clubs and that his death was a devastating loss for everyone associated with them. The Welsh Rugby Union said it was deeply saddened by his sudden passing, and Super Rygbi Cymru said its whole community stood together in grief and support. Messages of condolence followed from clubs and supporters across Welsh rugby, and his death was reported by WalesOnline, North Wales Live, RugbyPass and Ruck.
He is remembered in north Wales as a homegrown player who came up through his local club and the regional pathway, went away to study, and came back to play for the teams that had formed him.
