Ofir Sarid

Ofir Sarid was an Israeli real estate executive who led Melisron, one of the country's major listed property companies, as chief executive from 2019 until shortly before his death. He died on 28 September 2026 at the age of 54 after a serious illness, Melisron and Israeli business media reported.

Trained as a certified public accountant, Sarid held a bachelor's degree in economics and accounting from the University of Haifa and a master's degree in law from Bar-Ilan University. He began his career at the accounting firm Somekh Chaikin (KPMG) and later held senior finance posts, including as chief financial officer of Netvision around the time that company went public after its merger with 013 Barak.

He joined Melisron in 2011 as chief financial officer and served in that role for about eight years. In October 2019 the board appointed him chief executive, succeeding Avi Levy. Melisron owns and manages the Ofer shopping mall network and has interests in offices, high-tech parks and residential development. During Sarid's tenure the company expanded its residential arm, including through Aviv Melisron, while continuing to develop its mall and commercial portfolio through the COVID-19 period and afterward.

On 2 September 2026 Melisron announced that Sarid had taken medical leave. Later that month, after his condition worsened, the company said he was ending his role for medical reasons. Chief financial officer Oren Hillinger served as acting chief executive. Melisron then announced Sarid's death with deep sorrow, describing him as a valued manager who had contributed greatly to the company's growth. Chair and controlling shareholder Liora Ofer said he had been a true friend and partner in vision, beyond his professional standing.

Sarid was survived by his wife and three children. He was 54.
