Paul Giorgio

Paul J. Giorgio was a Worcester, Massachusetts publisher, magazine founder and civic advocate whose career linked local media, Democratic politics and community institutions for more than three decades. He died on 25 September 2026 at the age of 75. The cause of death was not made public.

A lifelong Worcester resident, Giorgio graduated from Worcester North High School and attended Assumption College and Clark University. He worked in Washington at the White House before returning home with experience he later applied to local institutions and economic and cultural projects.

He began in publishing as an owner of Worcester Publishing Ltd., the company behind Worcester Magazine and the Worcester Business Journal. He later led Pagio Inc. and created Pulse Magazine, a free arts, dining and culture title that became a Central Massachusetts fixture for more than twenty years. Pagio also produced other regional publications, including work connected with Worcester Medicine and visitors guides. Earlier in 2026 he sold Pulse and CM Pride Magazine to Merit House Media, keeping the titles based in Worcester while ending his ownership.

Beyond publishing, Giorgio served in civic roles including work with the Worcester Housing Authority, as chairman of the Worcester County Food Bank board, and on the Worcester Business Development Corporation board. He helped establish the Shrewsbury Street Merchants Association and was a longtime Democratic Party activist and campaign adviser.

Worcester Mayor Joseph Petty called him a true friend and dedicated public servant who had given much of his life to the city and to the Democratic Party. Funeral arrangements included a gathering and celebration of life at Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel in Worcester in early October 2026.
