Sergei Predybailov was a Russian handball player and coach, a right winger who won bronze at the first Beach Handball World Championship in 2004 and gold with Russia at the 2005 World Games in Duisburg. On the indoor court he starred for Zarya Kaspiya of Astrakhan and became one of the few players to score more than 1,000 goals in Russian league and cup play. At the time of his death on 13 October 2026, aged 44, he was head coach of the women's club Stavropolye.

Sergei Viktorovich Predybailov was born on 1 April 1982 in the village of Belaya Glina in Krasnodar Krai. He started out in beach handball in the Krasnodar region. Viktor Lavrov, head coach of the Stavropol club Viktor, invited him to move to Stavropol, and the young winger quickly broke into the first team. He recalled that the confidence he found there carried him into Russia's youth and junior national sides.

He played for Viktor from 2000 until about 2005. In 2004 he was part of the Russian squad that took bronze at the first ever Beach Handball World Championship, where he was named to the all-star team. A year later he won gold with Russia's beach handball team at the World Games in Duisburg, Germany. He then moved to Zarya Kaspiya in Astrakhan, later renamed Dynamo, where he was twice a runner-up in the Russian Championship, in 2007 and 2008, and won the Russian Cup in 2008. He was called up to the senior national team and held the title Master of Sport of International Class. His scoring record earned him a place in the Men's Club, an honorary group for Russian players with more than 1,000 goals in the national championship and cup.

After his playing career he turned to coaching. From 2017 to 2022 he worked on the staff of Dynamo Astrakhan and served as acting head coach in 2022. In 2023 he returned to Stavropol to join the coaching staff of the women's Super League club Stavropolye, and he went on to lead the team as head coach.

Predybailov died on Tuesday, 13 October 2026, in his 45th year. His death was announced by the Handball Federation of Russia, the Astrakhan regional sports ministry and his former club Viktor, which said its whole handball family grieved with his relatives. The cause of death was not made public. He left three children, the youngest born in 2022. His daughter Alexandra followed him into the sport, making her senior debut for Stavropolye in May 2026 and joining Russia's junior women's national squad.

He is remembered in Astrakhan and Stavropol as a prolific winger and a patient mentor whose players filled the rosters of Dynamo Astrakhan and Stavropolye.
