My father had Spinning Wheel on vinyl. Wore that record out. Didn't know half the story until I read about him later, but it made sense. That voice had lived.

Grew up in the 70s watching him play it for laughs as Bond. He brought humour to the role when it needed it. Not the same without him.

My mother grew up in Cuttack and used to sing his songs around the house. Odia culture just lost something irreplaceable. He was 88 and gave us everything.

Heard the news this morning and it felt like losing someone from your own family, even though you never knew him. That's the mark of a great actor. He made you feel like you did. My mother watched *The Lion King* with my kids and told them about seeing him on stage when she was young. Three generations now. What a life.
