Gerald R. "Jerry" Secrest, who went by Jerry, died on October 30, 2026, at the age of 62. His death was announced through an obituary placed by Brooks Funeral Home in Connellsville, Pennsylvania, the funeral home handling his arrangements, which indicates he lived in or near Connellsville in Fayette County.

Unlike many of the people covered on this site, Jerry Secrest was not a public figure in the conventional sense. He does not have a Wikipedia page, and no national or regional news outlets appear to have reported on his life or death. What is known about him comes from the obituary his family shared, which describes a man who loved NASCAR and treasured time spent at his farm, a place his family remembered as his retreat from everyday life. The obituary describes him as someone who was unapologetically himself, a trait his family said was part of what made him memorable to those who knew him.

The obituary does not describe a career, education, or public role, so no occupation or professional history can be reported here. What the family chose to highlight instead was his role within the family itself, in particular his pride in being a grandfather. He was survived by five children, Jerry "Little Jerry" Secrest and his wife Katie, Alexis Secrest, Shaina Secrest, Leland Secrest, and Ryder Secrest, and by two grandsons, Easton and Dutton Secrest, whom the obituary says held a special place in his heart. He was also survived by three sisters, Deanna Sirgey, Kelly Smitley, and Jenn Brown, along with their husbands and a number of nieces and nephews.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father, also named Gerald Secrest, his mother, Nancy Rose, his brother Melvin, and his daughter Hailee. No cause of death has been made public, and no funeral or memorial service details beyond the obituary itself have been reported as of this writing.

This page reflects what is publicly and reliably known about Jerry Secrest at this time. Because he was a private individual rather than a public figure, much of what might typically appear on a life page, such as a detailed career history, education, or marital status, has not been documented in any available source and is not included here. The page will be updated if further verified information becomes available.

Didn't know him well, only through my sister who lived near Connellsville. She always said his farm was the one place everybody wanted to be on a Sunday. That counts for something.

Gerald R. "Jerry" Secrest died on October 30, 2026, at the age of 62. His passing was announced in an obituary published by Brooks Funeral Home in Connellsville, Pennsylvania, which is handling his arrangements. The obituary does not state where he died or name a cause, and no cause of death has been made public by his family or any other source as of this writing.

The obituary describes a family in mourning, noting that he left behind a personality that will never be forgotten and that he was truly one of a kind in the eyes of those closest to him.

Details of a funeral, visitation, or memorial service had not been published at the time this page was written. Readers who wish to confirm service arrangements or send condolences are directed to Brooks Funeral Home - Connellsville, which is listed as the funeral home of record.
