For Carolyn Bossmann · 3h ago

My mom called me about this one, she said she used to see Carolyn Bossmann's name around Dayton for years and just assumed she'd always be there. Nobody seems to know much more than the notice in the Daily News. Still sad.

For Alan Brown · 8d ago

My dad was from Maidstone and used to tell me about watching Alan Brown steam in for Kent, that big exaggerated drag of his back foot. He died one day before his 90th birthday. I never saw him bowl myself, only knew him through my father's stories and an old cricket documentary we watched together one Sunday afternoon.

For Peter Howell · 16d ago

Read about him this week and can't stop thinking of this line, 'we saw more buildings that way,' about traveling cheap with Ed just to see as much as they could. That's faith in beauty right there.

For Udo Kier · 17d ago

Told my mom Udo Kier died and she just said "Dracula" and got quiet for a second. I only knew him from the Blade clips going around online but apparently he was in like 200 movies. 81 years old.

For Karina Zeviani · 23d ago

Never followed her solo stuff but her vocal on Thievery Corporation's live shows always stood out, that voice carried over the whole band without trying hard. Didn't know she was from Brazil originally, thought that was a DC project through and through. 51 is no age.

For Jim Bradshaw · 18 Sept 2026

My dad used to talk about that 1965 game against Philadelphia, three interceptions in one afternoon, like it was scripture. We watched old Steelers highlights together on Sunday afternoons when I was a kid in DC, and his name always came up. 87 years, a whole life after football too. Rest well, Mr. Bradshaw.

For Nariko Ott · 17 Sept 2026

Saw him host Cool Kids Patio Show with my sister a few years back, we laughed so hard we missed our bus stop and had to walk home in the rain. 46. I don't know what to say.

For Mario Vargas Llosa · 9 Sept 2026

I first read The Time of the Hero in a college seminar and it changed how I saw literature and power. His work taught me that fiction could be a kind of truth telling that history couldn't match. Rest well, Mario.

For Indu Mitha · 31 Aug 2026

Seventy years. She held onto something beautiful through Partition, through Zia, through every reason the world gave her to let it go. What a testament to faith in art and in people.

For Elizabeth Taylor · 9 Aug 2025

She converted to Judaism and meant it. That kind of integrity about faith was rare in Hollywood, and she lived it.
