I only just saw this come up on my feed this morning, scrolling through with my coffee the way I do every day now, and I don't know why it stopped me the way it did, maybe because fifty eight is no age at all really. Built that whole business with his brother from nothing, I read, and here I am all the way in Tennessee never been to Australia in my life and it still sat with me all day. His wife and those children, I just keep thinking of them. Anyway. Edit: I looked it up again after, it was fifty eight, I had it right the first time, I just needed to say it twice I suppose.

I only heard about this because my daughter in law is from Ipoh and she called me this morning, still half asleep, to tell me. I had never heard of Chin Woo before she explained it, how he joined at fourteen and just never left, seventy some years with the one place. We travelled through Malaysia in 2015, my husband and I, and I remember the markets in Ipoh more than anything, not knowing any of this history was walking around us. Eighty six years old. Anyway I just wanted to write something down, I don't really know the man or the organization, but it moved me, the loyalty of it, staying with one thing your whole life. Rest well, Datuk.

My sister called from Davenport to tell me, she still keeps up with Scott County politics more than I ever did. She always said he was one of the few who'd tell you what he actually thought, even after that impeachment vote cost him the party chairmanship. 73 is no age.
