Told my dad about this and he just said "the balance sheet guy" and went quiet. He used to play Mehrling's Coursera lectures in the car on long drives, something about banks and IOUs. Never thought I'd see him go still like that over a professor he never met.

My dad had the Dichterliebe LP, the one with Tan Crone, and it got played most Sunday mornings in our lounge room in Melbourne while he did the crossword. I was maybe ten and didn't understand a word of it but I understood the voice. 81 years old. Still have that record somewhere.
