My grandmother died at 88 this spring too, and reading this just put me right back there for a second. Watched Heavenly Creatures on a flight once, had no idea the woman in the news stories was still alive all these years later in Orkney of all places.

I found his book on Hannes in a used shop in Bloomington, of all places, must have been 2011. Read the line about it being a journalistic book, not a biography, and thought, this guy actually means it. Never met him, never even been to Iceland, but I've quoted that line to people for years without knowing where it came from until today.
