My dad used to talk about Charles Hatcher the way people talk about someone who actually listens. Represented Southwest Georgia like it was his family's land, because in his heart it was. We need more people like that in office.

Dave Marsh made you believe that what you listened to mattered. That rock and roll could be a moral argument. I grew up reading him in Rolling Stone and thinking, yes, this is how you write about music like it means something.
