I first read about him in a documentary on the Palach case my professor played in a grad seminar back in 2001, the clip of him speaking at that funeral in January 1969 stuck with me for twenty years. Called my advisor that night just to talk about it. Strange to feel this for someone I only ever knew through a screen.

Saw a clip about this on the news last night, never heard of her before. That line from her family, about being the best mam, nana, daughter and friend, that part got me more than the rest of it.
