Heard this from my mum on the phone this morning. She did Spanish with Mrs Willhite at Sherrard back in the seventies, still remembers her conjugation drills. 80 years old.

mum rang asking if this was the William Morris booking agent, same name. it's not, this one's from Cement City, Michigan, 36, no cause given. the whole funeral notice is two lines long

First triple back on Olympic floor, 1988. That's it, that's the whole sentence.

Didn't know him, just the Woodmere name in the report. 82, and one more who could say I was there is gone now. That's the part that lands.

63. My father died the same way, mid trip, no warning, no explanation ever given. Reading this brought it all back.

my dad just called me about a pharmacist in Georgia and I had no idea he was the guy from that Dooley first game clip. 83.

Reading about this a bit late, thirty six years leading one eparchy is not something you see much anymore. I remember years ago going down a rabbit hole on Ukrainian church history for a uni essay that never got finished, kept a tab open about Ovruch and Korosten for ages after, never thought I'd see the name again in a death notice. He was consecrated in 1992, before that place even existed as its own eparchy, then it was created the next year and he just stayed. Seventy two, prolonged illness apparently. Strange how you can feel something for a person you never had any reason to know about. edit: fixed the year, it was 1993 the eparchy was set up not 92.

Memoria was fearless. You knew where he stood and he'd say it without blinking.

A lawyer who believed institutions could hold. Rare thing to see.

Blind in one eye from childhood, shaped Carnatic musicology for seventy years. Extraordinary.

Read about him years ago in an old sports history. The choice to stay, to turn down Santos, seemed almost impossible to understand at the time. Now it makes perfect sense.
