For Larry Hibbard · 3d ago

Caught a rerun of a Kansas House floor debate on C-SPAN years back, was driving through Wichita at the time. Hibbard cracked a joke mid session that had the whole chamber laughing. Didn't know the name till just now, 81, Fredonia hospital.

For Angiolino Piscaglia · 6d ago

Found him in a cycling history paperback my uncle left me, read it twice on a long flight to Rome. 94 years old, died on his own birthday. Last in the 1957 Giro and still rode every spring. That stuck with me more than any winner's name ever did.

For Vsevolod Bogdanov · 25 Sept 2026

Heard him quoted once on a shortwave tape my dad kept from the old Radio Moscow feed, something about a journalist taking the money and still writing the truth. Stuck with me for thirty years. 82. Long run leading that union.

For Olu Jacobs · 16 Sept 2026

Watched him on The Professionals back in the day. Class act. Rest well.

For Pinula Contreras · 13 Sept 2026

Pinula scored against Pelé. That alone says something about the man and the era he played in.

For Norberto Galasso · 7 Sept 2026

Read San Martín the way he wrote it. Changed my mind about a lot of things.

For Jeon Gyeong-cheol · 5 Sept 2026

Read about him on the news. His son Je-won will be okay now. That's what mattered to him.

For Pranab Patnaik · 23 Aug 2026

Watched him on Doordarshan back in the '80s. That voice could stop you mid-breath.

Same, my mum rang me too. It travels fast even from here.

Didn't know she was Canadian originally, that's a nice detail.

To Abena Eze’s tribute on Barry Melrose’s page · 9 Sept 2026

Exactly. He brought it to mainstream TV when nobody else could.
