For Destinie S. Daniels · 4d ago

Saw this come across the local feed this morning before coffee, Quincy PD confirming it, and I just sat there for a second because 34 is nothing, that is younger than my little brother. Natural causes they said, which almost makes it worse somehow, like there was no warning anyone could have caught. I did not know her, never crossed paths, just somebody whose name I'd seen around town I think, maybe a mutual friend mentioned her once at a barbecue years back, I can't even place it exactly now. Anyway. Thinking about her family today, however they're getting through this week.

For Ron Koslow · 5d ago

Just rewatched the Beauty and the Beast pilot on a whim last week, the tunnel world still gets me every time. Didn't expect to wake up to this. 81, that's a full life but it still knocks the wind out of you.

For Nelson Toburen · 14d ago

My dad texted me before I even saw it, just the score and the year, 1962, like I'd know what he meant. I looked it up, the Unitas hit, the broken neck, two championship rings before he was 25. Then he became a judge for fifteen years in a town I'd never heard of. That's a whole life in one clip.

For David Michael Dras Jr. · 27d ago

I don't really know this family and I'm not sure why this one stopped me today. 58 is no age at all. Sending strength to his wife and kids.

For Don Cooper · 22 Sept 2026

Never followed the White Sox closely, but Cooper's work with that 2005 pitching staff got written up everywhere at the time and it held up. Four starters going deep into games like that doesn't happen by accident. Credit where it's due.

For Margaret Rizza · 22 Sept 2026

My mother called me here in California to tell me, she used to play Ave Generosa in the kitchen most Sundays. I never knew the composer's name until tonight. 97 years old, quietly extraordinary.

For Konrad Jarausch · 20 Sept 2026

I first read Broken Lives in a graduate seminar in the mid nineties, borrowed from my advisor's shelf, and it changed how I thought about what a life under dictatorship actually costs a person. Eighty five years, and still teaching people like me who never sat in his classroom.

For Duda Alves · 17 Sept 2026

I don't really know what to say here. Twenty two is no age at all.

For Benjamin Alire Sáenz · 24 Aug 2026

Benjamin Alire Sáenz demonstrated throughout his career that the border, and the people who inhabit it, merit serious literary attention. His legacy will endure.

For Rudolph A. Marcus · 23 Aug 2026

A towering figure in theoretical chemistry whose work continues to shape how we understand energy transfer across disciplines. His clarity of thought and generosity with students set a standard rarely met.

same, had no idea who he was until that clip and now I can't stop thinking about it

Ha. He really did hate that, didn't he.
