Alexander Aslani was a German born plastic surgeon who became one of the best known names in cosmetic surgery on Spain's Costa del Sol, celebrated in particular for his work in body contouring and buttock augmentation. He was shot dead on 7 October 2026 inside his own clinic in Marbella, in an attack that shocked the medical community and the wider public across Spain and beyond.
Aslani trained internationally before settling in southern Spain. He began his surgical education in South Africa and went on to study at centres in London, Austria and Germany, building a career that spanned more than three decades. Between 2008 and 2018 he headed the plastic surgery departments at the Quiron hospitals in Malaga and Marbella, two of the region's major private medical centres, before striking out on his own.
In 2018 he founded Cirumed Clinic in Marbella, which grew into one of the largest facilities on the Costa del Sol specialising in body contouring. He became particularly associated with the Brazilian Butt Lift and with a hybrid technique that combined fat transfer with silicone implants, work that earned him recognition within the international community of gluteal surgeons. He was named Spain's best plastic surgeon in 2016, and by the time of his death he had performed more than 14,000 procedures and built an Instagram following of around 200,000 people, attracting patients from dozens of countries.
He died on the evening of Wednesday 7 October 2026, when at least one masked attacker, reportedly arriving by motorbike with an accomplice, entered his clinic in the Real Panorama urbanisation on the eastern side of Marbella and shot him several times in the head inside his own office. Paramedics who rushed to the scene were unable to save him and he was pronounced dead at the clinic. He was 57 years old. Spain's National Police opened an investigation into the killing; no arrests had been made in the immediate aftermath, and officers were examining several lines of inquiry, including the possibility that the attack was a contract killing linked to a patient's death during a previous procedure.
News of the shooting spread quickly through Marbella and on social media, with former patients, friends and colleagues expressing shock and grief. Those who knew him spoke of his relentless dedication to his profession, with one friend describing him as a wonderful person who was never involved in anything murky. He was survived by his wife, who runs an adjoining beauty treatment centre, and their two daughters, one of them still a minor. His father, Dr Amir Aslani, had been a pioneering surgeon in Germany, and Alexander Aslani's death was felt as the loss of the second generation of a respected medical family.
