Anika Rashaun, known to television audiences for her appearances on MTV's Real World Seattle: Bad Blood and The Challenge: Invasion of the Champions, has died after a battle with stage four breast cancer. News of her death was reported on 23 October 2026, following a tribute written by her close friend Tiara Ramos.
Born and raised in New York City before her family moved to Philadelphia when she was around ten years old, Rashaun went on to study communications and media at Pace University, graduating in 2013. She first became known to a wider public in 2016 when she joined the cast of Real World Seattle: Bad Blood, one of the original roommates in a season built around a storyline with her ex-boyfriend. The exposure led to a spot on The Challenge: Invasion of the Champions the following year, part of a wave of newer reality competitors mixed in with the franchise's veterans.
Away from reality television, Rashaun worked as a host and built a small media business of her own, serving as the founder and head of AskAnika, a lifestyle brand and talk show venture she developed after moving to Los Angeles. She also picked up acting credits, including roles in the projects Layla and Lea the Late Bloomer. Friends who knew her described a woman who was direct, adventurous and unafraid to start over, having at one point relocated to Thailand without knowing anyone there.
According to the tribute from her best friend Tiara Ramos, Rashaun was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer in the summer of 2025. Her best friend Tiara Ramos shared the news in a tribute published on 5 October. The disease progressed quickly, and she died months after the diagnosis became known to those closest to her. No funeral home, hospital or official family statement has yet confirmed the precise date or location of her death, and People Forever will update this page as more details are made public.
Tributes from friends and former castmates have focused on her warmth and her refusal to be defined by illness. Ramos wrote about the decades of friendship the two shared, describing Rashaun as someone who was unapologetically herself. Fans who remembered her from her Real World and Challenge seasons also shared condolences online after the news broke, remembering her as an underestimated but memorable presence in the franchise's history.
