My mother called from Wisconsin to tell me about this. Eleven years old. No answers yet, nothing.

Cohen Slusher was an 11 year old boy from the Cincinnati area who was found dead inside a home in Blue Ash, Ohio, on October 23, 2026. He is remembered by his mother, Lynsey Moore, as an energetic and bright child who loved visiting Chuck E. Cheese, and his death has drawn widespread sympathy as his family publicly pleads for answers about what happened to him.
Cohen had been living with his maternal grandmother, Trina Holcomb, who had held legal custody of him since 2018 while his mother, Lynsey Moore, worked through a period of drug rehabilitation. Moore has said she remained involved in her son's life and was working to regain custody, something she says Holcomb knew about. Family members said Cohen was last seen at school on a Tuesday, and that was also the last time neighbors recalled seeing him.
On the evening of Friday, October 23, 2026, Blue Ash police officers were dispatched to a home in the 4700 block of Belleview Avenue to conduct a wellness check after a neighbor reported an unusual lack of activity at the house for several days. Inside, officers found Cohen dead. A woman, identified by family as his grandmother, was also found in the home and was taken to a hospital; her condition has not been publicly disclosed.
The Hamilton County Coroner's Office took custody of the case to determine how Cohen died, but as of this writing no cause of death has been released. Blue Ash police have said only that the death remains under investigation and have not described the circumstances in detail, which has left Cohen's family, including his mother and his maternal grandmother Teri Sand, frustrated and searching for information. Family members have also noted, with evident distress, that this was not the first death inside that same house, saying two of Holcomb's adult children died there within the previous five years, though authorities have not publicly connected those earlier deaths to Cohen's.
News of Cohen's death spread through local Cincinnati area media and then more widely after relatives spoke publicly about their grief and their demand for transparency from investigators. A GoFundMe campaign has been started to help the family cover funeral costs. No funeral or memorial service details had been publicly announced as of October 28, 2026, and this page will be updated as the investigation and arrangements develop.
