Cynthia "Cindy" Louise Miller was the wife of longtime Detroit Lions radio play by play announcer Dan Miller, a role that made her a familiar and beloved figure within the Lions broadcasting family even though she herself worked outside the public eye. She was born on October 3, 1963, in Falls Church, Virginia, to Roy Biondi and Valerie Weber Biondi, and she graduated from the University of Maryland in 1985.

Cindy built an early career in radio journalism, working for ten years as a news producer. It was during this period, while employed at the Westwood One Radio Network, that she met Dan Miller, beginning a relationship that would lead to 33 years of marriage. After her years in news production, she spent time as a preschool teacher. Those who knew her described her as charismatic, funny and full of life, with a warmth that made people feel welcome.

Football became a defining thread of the Miller family's life. Cindy was known as a devoted and visible presence at Detroit Lions home games, where she regularly sat in the fifth row behind the team's bench, and she shared that enthusiasm with her husband and children, turning the sport into a family tradition rather than simply Dan's profession. Together, Dan and Cindy raised four children, Sammi, Rikki, Tony and Robbie, and were grandparents to two granddaughters, Daphne and Cecilia.

Cindy had been battling leptomeningeal disease, a serious and rare condition in which cancer cells spread to the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord, at the time of her death. She died on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at the age of 63, just one week after celebrating her birthday. As of the most recent reporting, her official cause of death had not been formally confirmed beyond the reported battle with leptomeningeal disease.

Her death prompted Dan Miller to step away from the Lions radio booth, missing the team's Sunday broadcast against the Arizona Cardinals to be with his family, with broadcaster Jason Benetti filling in alongside Lomas Brown. The news drew an outpouring of tributes from the Lions broadcasting community and fans, who offered condolences to Dan and his children. A memorial gathering is scheduled for Friday, October 16, 2026, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the L.J. Griffin Funeral Home's Northrop Sassaman Chapel.

Didn't know much about her beyond the Lions broadcasts, but I always liked how Dan would mention her in the booth, you could tell she kept that family grounded. 63 is no age at all.
