Carlos Mauricio Gómez, known online as Komanche or El Komanche, was a Salvadoran streamer and content creator who became one of the best known Spanish-language personalities on Twitch. He was a driving force behind the Squid Craft Games, a Minecraft competition inspired by the Netflix series Squid Game that he helped launch with the Spanish streamers AuronPlay and El Rubius. He died in Monterrey, Mexico, on 25 October 2026, aged 30.

He was born in September 1996 in El Salvador and grew up in San Sebastián, in the department of San Vicente. He began streaming in 2015, at a time he later described as marked by financial and personal difficulty, and his early broadcasts centred on games such as Grand Theft Auto, Minecraft and Fortnite along with long conversations with his audience. His following grew quickly between 2020 and 2022, and he collaborated with creators including Fernanfloo, Ibai Llanos, Coscu and El Rubius. He moved to Mexico and settled in Monterrey.

The first Squid Craft Games, held in January 2022 as a Twitch Rivals event produced with Eufonia Studio, became one of the biggest successes on Twitch and was reported to have set an audience record for a Twitch Rivals tournament. Komanche co-hosted the launch of the second edition in Barcelona in February 2023; that tournament had 200 participants and a prize of 100,000 dollars, and he took part as a player as well as an organiser. He also reacted to music releases on stream, spoke live with Bad Bunny during an interview by Ibai Llanos, interviewed the singer Mora and took part in the Kings League Américas.

By 2026 he had about 1.7 million followers on Twitch, close to half a million YouTube subscribers and more than 880,000 followers on Instagram. In October 2023 he published a video about his mental health, saying he had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder at 18, and spoke about how online criticism had affected him, urging viewers to seek professional help.

His death was confirmed on 26 October 2026 by his manager, Byron Reyes, after speaking to his family. He had been found dead at a home in the Paseo de Cumbres area of Monterrey on the evening of 25 October. The Nuevo León state prosecutor's office opened an investigation and said the cause of death would be established by autopsy; no official cause had been announced at the time of writing. Tributes came from fellow creators including AuronPlay, Ibai Llanos, Coscu, Westcol and Spreen, and Reyes used his message to speak out against online bullying.

Never really followed streaming, my grandson showed me the Squid Craft Games clips once. I'll give him this, he got kids to build and cooperate on camera instead of just shouting. 30 is no age.

In January 2022 the first Squid Craft Games took place, an elimination tournament inside Minecraft modelled on Squid Game and run as a Twitch Rivals event. Komanche was one of its promoters alongside AuronPlay, El Rubius and Eufonia Studio, led by Alejandro Corrales, and according to the Costa Rican outlet CRHoy he helped put the studio in contact with AuronPlay and El Rubius. The event became one of the largest successes on the platform. The second edition was presented at a live event in Barcelona on 12 February 2023, hosted by Komanche and El Rubius, and was played from 28 February to 5 March 2023 with 200 participants and a prize fund of 100,000 dollars. Komanche competed as well as organising and was eliminated on the fourth day.

In later years he added music reactions to his streams. A declared fan of Bad Bunny, he spoke briefly with the singer when Ibai Llanos called him live during an interview, and he later interviewed the Puerto Rican singer Mora. He also took part in the Kings League Américas. He was due to appear in Ibai Llanos's boxing event La Velada del Año 6, but his bout was cancelled after he revealed it early. His career also included public disputes with other creators, among them Spreen and La Liendra in 2023.
