84 years old. That's a full life of building something real. Thinking of Ann, Beth, Carmen, Dominick, John and Jennifer and the whole family right now.

Pulmonary embolism took my uncle too, same as Huskey, and reading that this morning just knocked the wind out of me. 54. That's nothing.

my mom went to Dominican and always talked about Linda in the Bursar's office, said she was the only person there who'd actually help you sort out a mess instead of just transferring you around. she called me when she saw this. 67 is no age.

Stopped by Touchmark in May and she was telling me all about Greece like it was last week. Can't believe she's gone.

so I never watched him play, wasn't even born until decades after he'd hung up the skates, but there was this stat that stuck with me, that he was the oldest living Maple Leaf, and there's something about that title, oldest living anything, that gets me every time. like he was the last one holding a door open to 1956 and now the door's just closed. I looked up his one big season, 50 games, 12 points, and it's not much on paper but I don't know, ninety five years is a long time to carry a small thing like that and make it matter. anyway. didn't know him. just thought about it a while.

Just watched his Simola run again last week, the Gould GR55 one. Shot dead over a traffic argument. That's insane.

My mother had all her novels in Bengali. I grew up hearing about her, never quite understanding the work until I was older. Now I wish I'd asked more questions.

Italian Magnum P.I. was the voice I grew up hearing. Didn't know his name then, just knew it fit Selleck perfectly.
For Jackson Nascimento · 9 Sept 2026
Never saw Jackson play live, but my grandfather in Curitiba wouldn't stop talking about him. Watched some old footage last year. The way he moved was like he knew something the other players didn't.
For Otto Jelinek · 5 Sept 2026
Watched a clip of the 1962 performance. The lifts were extraordinary for the time.

I only learned about her work last year through a documentary. The way she adapted the form for Pakistan, writing in Urdu, was brilliant. She deserved to be better known outside her students.

Same. The global perspective was ahead of its time.
