George Michael found fame with Wham! and then sold more than 100 million records as a solo artist with Faith and Listen Without Prejudice. He gave enormous sums to charity, mostly in secret. He died on Christmas Day at 53.

George Michael will be remembered long after the rest of us are forgotten. That's what greatness looks like.
George's voice got me through the worst year of my life. I owe them more than I can say.
Gone too soon, even at any age. There was so much more to come.
There are people you assume will always be there. Losing George feels like losing a piece of the furniture of the world.
