Judith Dennis

Judith Elaine Dennis was a longtime resident of Findlay, Ohio, remembered by her family and community for her warmth, her hospitality, and her decades of volunteer work with local garden and civic organizations. She was born on January 31, 1941, in Columbus, Ohio, to John H. and Eloise D. (Leitzy) Dykstra. She graduated from Upper Arlington High School in 1959 and went on to attend The Ohio State University, where she joined the Pi Beta Phi sorority, ties she kept up for the rest of her life through the sorority's alumnae group.

Professionally, she spent many years working for Ohio Bell as a Business Office Supervisor. It was there that she met James Dennis, who became her husband. Beyond her career, Judith was best known in Findlay for the warmth of her home and garden. She was an enthusiastic cook and baker and a devoted gardener, and she channeled those interests into public service through several garden clubs. She was also active in P.E.O. Chapter BO in Findlay, the Findlay Arts League, and a social organization known as The Coterie, in addition to her sorority alumnae group.
