Leland Katz

Leland Katz was a dentist who practiced in Culver City, California, where he worked for much of his career under the name Leland David Katz, DDS. He was born on April 30, 1941, and died on July 24, 2026, at the age of 85. Beyond his dental practice, little about his professional life has been reported in the press, and no Wikipedia page or substantial news coverage of his career exists at this time. He appears to have been known primarily within his local community and professional circle rather than as a public figure in the conventional sense.

Katz's death was announced through a paid obituary notice published by the Los Angeles Times in November 2026, more than three months after he died. The notice was placed by his widow, who signed it Ixela Cenda, noting that she had previously been known as Iczel Katz. The obituary was personal in tone, referring to him by the nickname Lanny and marking the occasion around the Day of the Dead, a Mexican observance honoring the deceased, rather than detailing his career achievements or survivors in the conventional format of a news obituary.

No cause of death has been made public. The obituary notice that announced his death did not state a cause, and no reputable news outlet has reported one as of this writing. Given the limited public record, basic biographical details such as his parents, education, children, and full career history have not been independently verified or widely reported.

Because Leland Katz was primarily a private individual rather than a widely known public figure, there is no record of public tributes, professional honors, or statements from colleagues following his death. This page reflects only what has been confirmed through his published obituary and publicly available professional listings, and it will be updated if further verified information becomes available.
