Leonard Cohen was a poet and novelist before he was a songwriter, and wrote Suzanne, Hallelujah and So Long, Marianne. He released his final album, You Want It Darker, weeks before his death at 82.

My grandmother loved Leonard. When she died we played their work at the funeral. Now they're both gone. Strange how connected it all is.
