Martin Luther King Jr. led the American civil rights movement from the Montgomery bus boycott in 1955 to the March on Washington in 1963, where he delivered the I Have a Dream speech. He won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964 and was assassinated in Memphis in April 1968.

Memories, thanks and farewells from the people Martin touched.
Thank you for a lifetime of it, Martin. Rest in peace.
Gone too soon, even at any age. There was so much more to come.
The world is a little quieter today.

Some people leave a mark on the world that doesn't fade. Martin was one of them.
Thank you, Martin. For the joy, the honesty, and for showing up when it mattered.
I never met Martin, but I feel like I grew up with them. Thank you for being part of my life.
My grandmother loved Martin. When she died we played their work at the funeral. Now they're both gone. Strange how connected it all is.
My dad introduced me to Martin's work when I was a kid. We talked about it for hours. Today I'm thinking of both of them.
A life fully lived. Thank you, Martin.
Rest well, Martin. The work is done, and it was good.
Sending love to everyone grieving today. Martin belonged to all of us, and we all lost something.
245 people are remembering Martin here. Light a candle when words are hard. It stays here.
