My mom called me at 2am my time to tell me, she knew I'd want to know. I've been living in Spain for three years and Country Money was still on every playlist I made for homesickness. 35.

Nicole Helen Taylor was an American country musician, best known as the eldest of the identical red haired triplet sisters who made up the country trio Taylor Red, originally formed under the name Red Roots. Born on March 18, 1991, she grew up with her sisters Natalie Jean Taylor and Nika Lee Taylor in Mississippi, and the three began performing together as children before launching their recording career in 2011.
Within the group, Nicole sang low harmonies and played banjo, guitar and drums, rounding out a sound built on the trio's tight sibling harmonies and shared red hair, a visual signature that became part of their identity as performers. Taylor Red released its first independent album, Red Roots, in January 2011, followed by The Middle of Nowhere in 2012 and Triplicity in 2014, before the sisters signed with the independent Christian and country label Inpop Records in 2015 and rebranded as Taylor Red in 2018.
The group found a wider audience later in its career after building a following on TikTok, which it parlayed into renewed momentum with the single Country Money, released in March 2021. Taylor Red also reached national audiences through a Sonic Drive In advertising campaign that ran in 2020 and 2021, and the sisters were featured in a People magazine profile describing how social media had given the Christian country act, who had worked for years outside the mainstream, a path to a larger stage.
Nicole Taylor died on September 28, 2026, at the age of 35. Her death was confirmed through an obituary published by Woodard Funeral Home in Westmoreland, Tennessee, listing her residence as Nashville and Hendersonville, Tennessee, and no cause of death has been made public. She is survived by her parents, Mark and Sherry Taylor, her brother Mark Allen Taylor Jr., her sisters and bandmates Natalie Jean Taylor and Nika Lee Taylor, and a number of nieces and nephews.
News of her death prompted an outpouring of tributes from fans of Taylor Red and from the wider country and Christian music communities who had followed the trio's long path from independent releases to national recognition. People Forever will update this page as more details about the circumstances of her death, and about any memorial service, become available.
