Norvan Holverson, known to family and friends as Norv, was a Nebraska born businessman who spent much of his life in Lincoln, Nebraska before moving to California in his final decades. He died on October 18, 2026, in Roseville, California, at the age of 90 or 91, according to an obituary published by the Lincoln Journal Star.
Holverson was born in 1935 in Indianola, Nebraska, the son of W. Howard and Mary B. Holverson. He grew up in the Furnas County area of southern Nebraska, graduated from Lincoln Northeast High School, and briefly attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps alongside four friends from home.
After his military service, Holverson returned to Lincoln and, in early 1959, married Karen Persons. The couple soon opened a beauty shop called Karen's Magic Mirror in Lincoln's Bethany neighborhood. Holverson went on to build a career spanning roughly two decades in real estate in Lincoln. In 1978 he and his family relocated to Roseville, California, where he shifted his work toward agricultural and residential construction.
Holverson was not a public figure in the conventional sense of politics, entertainment or sports, and he left no public record of controversy or major civic office. His obituary instead describes a man remembered within his family and community as a straight shooter who valued honesty above all else and who hoped that quality would be remembered by those who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Karen, his children Tracy Aksamit, who is married to Mark Aksamit, and Todd Holverson, who is married to Lisa Holverson, and three grandchildren, Natalie Aksamit, Timothy Aksamit and Jordan Holverson. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his siblings Martha Griswold and Winston Holverson. No cause of death has been made public. A celebration of life is planned at Lambert Funeral Home in Roseville, California, and his interment at Fairview Cemetery in Lincoln, Nebraska will follow at a later date.
