Seven months old. I saw this on KSAT this morning while my own daughter was asleep in the next room and I just sat there. No answers on cause, nothing, just gone. Sending love to whoever is carrying this family right now.

Ozana Cisneros was a seven month old girl from San Antonio, Texas, whose disappearance and death became the subject of an intense, weeks long search and a statewide Amber Alert in the summer of 2026. She was not a public figure in the ordinary sense, having no career or public life of her own. She is remembered because of the case that carries her name, one that raised hard questions about how a baby could go missing for a month before an alert was issued, and that remains, months later, without a clear explanation of how she died.
Ozana was last seen on June 10, 2026, at a home on Roosevelt Avenue in San Antonio, in the company of her mother, Maximina Cisneros, 19. Neither mother nor daughter was seen again for about a month. It was not until July 9, 2026 that the Texas Department of Public Safety issued a statewide Amber Alert for the infant, once investigators had gathered enough information to act. The infant was first reported missing on June 10 along with her mother, 19 year old Maximina Cisneros. They remained missing for about a month until authorities gathered enough information to issue an Amber Alert on July 9. The alert said Maximina Cisneros was wanted in connection with her daughter's disappearance.
The case mattered to the public because of the gap it exposed, and because of what followed. On July 10, 2026, Maximina Cisneros was found alive, near the 200 block of Parkview Drive, reportedly staying in a house close to Mission Concepcion. Because Ozana was still missing, the Amber Alert stayed in effect. Search teams looking for missing 7-month-old Ozana Cisneros discovered skeletal remains near Concepcion Park late Friday night, hours after her missing mother was rescued from a vacant home nearby.
The discovery did not end the uncertainty. On July 13, the AMBER Alert was officially discontinued, but law enforcement said Ozana Cisneros was still considered actively missing because the remains had not yet been identified. It took until early August for the medical examiner to confirm what the community had feared. The Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed that skeletal remains discovered near Concepcion Park were those of 7-month-old Ozana Cisneros, the infant at the center of a statewide Amber Alert.
No one has been charged in connection with Ozana's death. A man identified as the mother's boyfriend was briefly reported to have been arrested in the case, but police clarified the arrest was unrelated. A man San Antonio police initially said had been arrested in connection with the death of a 7-month-old girl was actually booked on unrelated charges, according to SAPD. As of the most recent court records cited in reporting, Cisneros has not been charged with any crime, according to Bexar County court and jail records.
In October 2026, more than three months after her remains were found, the medical examiner's office closed one chapter of the investigation without resolving the central question, classifying the cause and manner of Ozana's death as undetermined. The case remains open with the San Antonio Police Department, and her family continues to wait for answers that, so far, have not come.
