My mom called me all the way out here just to tell me Mr. Ricky passed. She said half of Lee County grew up on his stories. Praying for Anita and the girls tonight.

Ricky Joe Trimble was a 71 year old resident of Saltillo, Mississippi, who spent much of his working life in law enforcement, a career that family members said reflected his protective and watchful nature. He was born on February 24, 1955, in Corinth, Mississippi, to Marshall and Ernestine Trimble, and he lived most of his life in and around Lee County in northeast Mississippi.
According to his obituary, Ricky was known less for any public title or accomplishment than for the way he made the people around him feel cared for. He was described as a natural storyteller who loved recounting memories of his life and adventures to anyone willing to listen, and as a man who was always thinking of the next family gathering or a new way to make a memory with his daughters. He was also remembered as a devoted Christian who enjoyed sharing his faith.
Family and friends recalled Ricky as funny and full of personality, always ready with a joke, but also fiercely protective, the kind of man who checked the weather to make sure his loved ones were safely tucked away before a storm. He was known for celebrating holidays with enthusiasm and for never doing anything by half measures. He was rarely seen without his dog, Chief, who his family said was truly his whole world and who went almost everywhere with him.
Ricky Joe Trimble died on October 31, 2026, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi. His obituary, published by Holland Funeral Directors of Tupelo, did not state a cause of death, and no cause has otherwise been made public. He is survived by his wife, Anita Hester Trimble, his daughters Haley Trimble, Tessa Trimble and Michelle Trimble, his stepson Aaron McAnally, his siblings Vickie Roach, Pam Head and Roger Trimble, his close friend Scott Leathers, and his dog, Chief. He was preceded in death by his parents.
At the request of Ricky and his family, no formal funeral service is being held. The family is being assisted by Holland Funeral Directors, Tupelo Chapel, which is accepting messages of condolence and donations in his name.
