Rodger William Mayrant was a private citizen from Heavener, Oklahoma, who was not a public figure in the conventional sense but is remembered on this page because his death has drawn searches and local attention. He was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and spent his early life there before his family resettled in Oklahoma.
According to the obituary published by the Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home and reported by OKW News, Mayrant moved with his parents and sister to a small farm in Oklahoma in 2002, where he came to enjoy country living, raising animals, and a slower pace of life after growing up in Santa Fe. Those who knew him described a happy-go-lucky, humorous and wise man who formed many lasting friendships, and family members recalled him as a gifted artist with a wide range of skills, as well as a devoted brother and uncle.
Mayrant loved the outdoors, including four wheeling, hunting and fishing, activities that defined much of his life in rural Oklahoma. He was predeceased by his parents, Tony and Patricia Mayrant, and is survived by his siblings Chris Mayrant, David Mayrant and Sharon Hayer, along with several nieces and nephews across New Mexico and Oklahoma.
He died unexpectedly on November 3, 2026, near Heavener, Oklahoma, at the age of 52. His death was first announced through an obituary notice from the Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home in Heavener, which described him as 'an old soul' with a happy-go-lucky personality, and was subsequently reported by the local outlet OKW News. No cause of death has been made public.
In keeping with his wishes, no formal funeral service is being held. His remains are being cremated by Dowden-Roberts Funeral and Cremation Center of Poteau, Oklahoma, and he will be laid to rest at Reichert Cemetery in Reichert, Oklahoma. Tributes from family have focused on his warmth, his laugh and the positive energy he brought to those around him.
