Saw this shared in a Tipperary genealogy group I'm in, researching my own people from near Thurles. Six children and all those grandchildren around her at Nenagh, that's a full life even if I never knew her.

Úna Moloney, née Stapleton, died on 1 November 2026 at Nenagh Community Nursing Unit in County Tipperary, Ireland, surrounded by her family. She had lived on Ballygraigue Road in Nenagh and was formerly of Borrisoleigh, near Thurles, County Tipperary, where she grew up as the daughter of Jim and Kathy Stapleton.
Úna Moloney was not a public figure in the conventional sense of a career in politics, entertainment, sport or public life. The record of her life that is publicly available comes from the death notices published by her family and local Tipperary outlets, and it is, first and foremost, a record of a woman at the centre of a large family and a tight knit rural community in north Tipperary. She was the beloved wife of Michael Moloney and the mother of six children: sons Mícheál, Gearóid and Eóin, and daughters Caitríona (Brooks), Mairéad (O'Keeffe) and Sinéad.
Her family notice describes a woman who was, by the time of her death, a grandmother many times over, with grandchildren named Molly, Michael, Aidan, Aislinn, Niamh, Méabh, Danu and Dara. She was predeceased by her parents, Jim and Kathy (also recorded as Katty) Stapleton, by her sisters Joan and Breda, by an infant brother, Thomas Patrick, and by her son in law Chris. She is survived by her husband Michael, her six children, her brother Matt and sisters Maura, Eileen and Cáit, along with daughters in law Yvonne and Eva, son in law Liam, and a wide circle of nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.
No public details have been released about Úna Moloney's working life, education or any wider public activities, and nothing in the sources available suggests she held public office or had a public career. Her significance, as reported, was local and familial rather than national: she was known in Nenagh and in her native Borrisoleigh as a wife, mother, sister and grandmother, and the tributes that followed her death came from her family and community rather than from any professional field.
Family notices state that Úna Moloney died peacefully while in the care of staff at Nenagh Community Nursing Unit, with her family by her side. No cause of death has been made public, and no age at death was given in the notices issued by her family or in local reporting. Her remains will repose at Ryan's Funeral Home in Nenagh, with funeral Mass to follow at the Church of St Mary of the Rosary in Nenagh and burial afterwards at Ballinaclough Graveyard.
