42 years driving truck. that's not nothing, that's a whole life spent on the road, every state probably, all those nights away from the family just to keep things going. my grandfather drove for Yellow Freight out of Birmingham for about that long and it wrecks your back and your knees and nobody ever writes a story about it unless something like this happens. Blue Earth Minnesota, never been, probably never will, but I hope it was good to him. 1966 to 69 in the Army too, Vietnam, so the man did two hard jobs back to back basically. anyway. rest easy sir. edit: didn't realize he lost his wife just last year, that's rough, two years apart like that

Watched Mourir à tue-tête in a film history class in Tuscaloosa, professor rolled in an actual VHS. Nobody said a word after it ended. 94 years old, that's a full life.

One year gone already. Saw the vigil story out of Longueuil. Hope his family's holding up okay.

Only came across him last year, reading about privateers who raced factory teams with nothing but a toolbox. Second to Agostini in 1970 on a Kawasaki, no truck, no crew. That kind of story should travel further than it does.

Read Prison No. 5 in 2019. Couldn't put it down. Mehdi was still here then. Now he's gone.

The Liberation of Aunt Jemima changed how I see everything I own. She took what was meant to shame us and made it ours.
