My sister called from Wuppertal connections she has and mentioned this, said the town hall there opened a condolence book. Funny how you read about the end of dual mayoral systems in some policy paper once and then a name sticks. First full time mayor of Alfter, 1996. Small thing to know from this far away.

Never read him, honestly, just saw a quote from El Comandante Veneno going around and looked up who wrote it. My mom called right after she saw it on Diario de Cuba, she said she used to read him in Havana before she left. 77 is no age.

Just heard this. Saw Father Monti at a Saint Joseph's alumni thing back in the spring, still sharp, still cracking jokes about the Jesuits running everything on no sleep. 83. Hell of a run leading that university.
