Came across her obituary by chance online, a woman from Tennessee I never knew existed. Thirty seven years married, a bank teller, a churchwoman, nothing more and nothing less. Strange how a stranger's whole quiet life can stop you for a moment, even from Norway.

My brother called me this morning from Illinois, said the Danville pole vault coach passed. Never met the man but I've followed college vault records for years, Western Illinois still lists his marks. Strange how a name on an old results sheet can feel like someone you knew.
