For Joe Callanan · 29d ago
I was tracing my great grandmother's people out of Ballinasloe last year and kept coming across his name in the old council records. Never knew him beyond that, but read today he died at 77 and it stopped me for a minute. Sorry for his family's loss all the way over here.
For David Hockney · 17 Sept 2026
My father had a print of A Bigger Splash hanging in his study in Perth, and I must have stared at that blue water a thousand times as a girl doing my homework at his desk. Never met the man but he shaped how I look at swimming pools for the rest of my life.
For Madan Bafna · 14 Sept 2026
We have learned of Mr. Madan Bafna's passing with deep sadness. His contributions to education in Maharashtra through the colleges he helped establish will endure as a testament to his commitment to community and learning. Our thoughts are with his family and all who knew him.
For Recah Trinidad · 13 Sept 2026
Ricardo Trinidad's contribution to Philippine letters extends well beyond the arena. His journalism exemplified the highest standards of the profession and his poetry reminded us that sport and art speak the same language. A significant loss.
For Tom Petty · 7 Sept 2026
A true artist who fought for what he believed in. His integrity in an industry full of compromise is something we should all remember and honour.
For Pepe Habichuela · 13 Aug 2026
I first heard him on a documentary about flamenco in the 1990s and was struck by how the guitar seemed to weep. Pepe Habichuela carried something from those Sacromonte caves into every room he played. A master who never stopped learning.
For Ben Jones · 11 Aug 2026
Cooter was television history, and Ben Jones lived it with integrity and grace. His work on The Dukes of Hazzard shaped a generation's sense of American character. My sympathies to Alma and his family.
