Lost my brother in law three weeks ago and reading that Barnsley line, a defeat still lingered with him until the next match, got me more than I expected. Never knew the man or the club, just know that feeling of something staying with you after.

He played 373 times for West Ham and never once made you feel like you were watching a transient foreigner. He became part of the place, part of the fabric. The club was lucky to have him and he was kind enough to treat it like home. That 1995 display against Manchester United alone earns him a place in the story of this club forever. Rest easy, Ludo.
