My wife and I drove up from Wichita Falls for that 2013 Barber of Seville, the one that won the NOA award. Sat close enough to see him grinning at the keyboard the whole first act. She talked about that show for years.

My sister called me all the way from Missouri just to tell me Randy Pedersen died, said she knew I'd want to know. I haven't lived in the States in twenty years but Saturday afternoons with the PBA on was still a thing we did together when I visited. That voice saying dead flush perfect is stuck in my head today.

Same. Those early albums especially. They meant something real.

The Outlets lot won't feel the same without him there.
