Never followed Israeli politics closely and didn't agree with everything he signed onto later in life, but that 1968 letter to Brezhnev is the kind of thing that should be taught in schools. Saying it to his face basically, knowing what it would cost him. Ninety years old is a full life.

My dad called from Rotorua this morning just to tell me Barry Newcomen had died. Funny, I don't know much about cattle breeding, but the name stuck with me from the farm shows Dad used to watch. Vale.

My dad had a print of one of those shaped canvas pieces hanging in his study my whole childhood, never knew the name until a documentary years later. Heard about this on the radio driving to work and just sat in the parking lot for a minute.
