okay I'm still trying to process this one because Zahnd has just always been there, since I moved to the KC area in the 2000s his name was on every other news story about some case in Platte County, press conferences, court stuff, all of it, you kind of assume a guy like that is just permanent fixture of the place. 2002 to 2026, that's basically my whole adult life he was in that office. Not saying I agreed with everything the man did but he showed up, did the job for over two decades, that's not nothing these days. Anyway. Didn't know him personally obviously just a name I heard a thousand times on the radio driving to work. Weird to hear it's over.
