For Bruno Terlizzo · 29d ago

Read this on the L'Unione Sarda site this morning and sat with it a while. My uncle went the same quiet way not two years ago, no explanation given either, and it still catches me somewhere I don't expect. Eighty eight years, a life spent between the classroom at Siotto and the newspaper column on the Church, that is not a small thing to leave behind. Riposa in pace, Professore.

For Walter Lee Sharp Sr. (also referred to as Walter Sharp II) · 24 Sept 2026

I only learned of Walter Sharp this week, through a small piece about the last of the WWII veterans still living past a hundred. A corporal and sharpshooter, they said, and 101 years old. It struck me how quietly a whole generation is leaving us now, one obituary at a time. Riposa in pace, Signor Sharp.

For Bill Dundee · 6 Sept 2026

William Cruickshanks, born in Scotland, made his name in Tennessee. The territories remember him. A remarkable career in professional wrestling and a craftsman of the old school.

For Brenda Fricker · 15 Aug 2026

A singular talent. From the Abbey stage to My Left Foot to the world. Fricker carried Irish cinema into the modern era with authenticity and grace. Her generosity with fellow actors was legendary. Dublin has lost a daughter.
