My dad called me about this, he's lived in London Ontario his whole life and said the city won't feel the same without Gord Hume's name attached to something downtown. I never lived there but I've heard about the Central Library push for years growing up on his phone calls. Public service is noble, that line he wrote for himself is going to stick with me.

My grandmother used to say his character on that sitcom was nothing like the real man, that he was one of the kindest people she knew from the theatre world. I wish I'd gotten to see him perform live just once.

My dad had all the Rush Hour movies on VHS and we watched them together constantly. He'd always point out the fights and say 'that's the real skill right there, making it look easy.' I learned later that was James Lew he was talking about. Those films mean something different to me now.
