I never knew him personally, but I read about how he chose to stay quiet and just teach. In a world that rewards noise, that takes real strength. Rest well, Hafidh.

Marty taught my son to throw a football the right way, but more than that he taught him to think. He'd say 'slow down, trust the work.' Lost a good man.

My grandmother used to say his character on that sitcom was nothing like the real man, that he was one of the kindest people she knew from the theatre world. I wish I'd gotten to see him perform live just once.

My dad had all the Rush Hour movies on VHS and we watched them together constantly. He'd always point out the fights and say 'that's the real skill right there, making it look easy.' I learned later that was James Lew he was talking about. Those films mean something different to me now.
