only heard his name this week, my nephew sent me a clip of him leading prayers at Montazeri's funeral back in 2009 and I went down a whole reading hole after. ninety eight years old, spent decades on rijal scholarship most people outside Iran will never hear about. wish I'd found this sooner.

I first heard De Goustaro on a trip to Athens in 2017 and couldn't stop playing it. His voice had this warmth that made you want to stay up all night talking. So sad to lose someone who gave so much joy to the world.
